These terms are the agreement between you and Doorways.app ("we", "us") for using the Doorways app ("the app"). By downloading or using Doorways, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
We've written them plainly on purpose. Questions? hello@mydoorways.app.
1Using Doorways
We give you a personal, non-exclusive licence to use the app on your own devices. In return, we ask that you:
- use it for your own personal, non-commercial life;
- don't copy, resell, reverse-engineer, or try to break the app;
- don't use it to do anything illegal or harmful.
You need to be old enough to agree to these terms in your country (generally [13 / 16 / 18] or older). If you're under the age of majority, you should have a parent or guardian's permission.
2Your content is yours
Everything you create in Doorways — your notes, photos, and record — belongs to you. We don't claim any ownership of it, and because it stays on your device, we don't access it. You're responsible for what you choose to keep, and for backing it up (the app makes this easy from Settings).
3Subscriptions, trials, and payments
Doorways offers a free trial, followed by a paid subscription that unlocks the full app.
Free trial
Your free trial lasts 15 days. Unless you cancel before it ends, it will automatically become a paid subscription, and you'll be charged through your app store. We'll remind you before that happens.
Billing and renewal
Subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, at the price shown in the app. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it renews. Prices may vary by country and may change; if they do, we'll tell you first.
Cancelling
You can cancel any time in your app store account settings — Apple ID → Subscriptions on iPhone, or Google Play → Subscriptions on Android. Cancelling stops the next charge; you keep access until the end of the period you've paid for. We don't add cancellation hurdles.
Refunds
Because payments go through the app stores, refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies, not by us directly. We're happy to help where we can — just email us.
If you stop paying, you don't lose your record. When a subscription ends, Doorways keeps working in a read-only way for what you've already kept — you can still open, look back on, and export your entries. We will never hold your memories hostage behind a paywall.
Confirm the exact trial length and prices here match what you configure in App Store Connect, Google Play Console, and RevenueCat.
4A note on wellbeing
Doorways is designed to help you spend time offline and reflect on it. It is not a medical or mental-health service, and its suggestions are not professional advice. If you're struggling with your health, please talk to a qualified professional. Use common sense and stay safe when doing any suggested activity.
5The app is provided "as-is"
We work hard to make Doorways reliable and pleasant, but we can't promise it will always be available, error-free, or fit every purpose. To the extent the law allows, the app is provided "as-is" and "as-available", without warranties of any kind.
Because your data lives on your device, keeping your own backup is the surest way to protect your record. We can't recover data that only ever existed on a device you've lost or reset.
6Our limits of responsibility
To the extent the law allows, we won't be liable for indirect or unexpected losses arising from your use of the app, and our total responsibility to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the past [12 months]. Some places don't allow these limits, in which case they apply to you only as far as the law permits.
7Ending things
You can stop using Doorways any time by cancelling your subscription and deleting the app. We may suspend or end access if these terms are seriously or repeatedly broken. If we ever discontinue the app, we'll give you reasonable notice and time to export your record.
8Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the app grows. If we make a significant change, we'll update the date above and let you know in the app. Continuing to use Doorways after a change means you accept the new terms.
9The legal bits
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and any disputes will be handled by the courts there, unless the law where you live gives you the right to use your local courts.
Apple and Google are not parties to this agreement and aren't responsible for the app. Where you download through their stores, their terms also apply, and this agreement is between you and us.
